Prova No 5 2023 Branco is the third bottling of Donzelinho Branco from Quinta da Pedra Alta. The wine has fantastic energy and shows great potential for ageing.

Showing delicate aromas of lime and candied lemons, this wine is bursting with citrus and lime flavours and zesty acidity. It's a perfect accompaniment to Oysters, Sushi, or  BBQ sardines.

16.5 "The aroma is dominated by a stony/mineral herbal/savoury character not by any one fruit, though there’s lots of zesty lime as it opens. Light-bodied, not quite lean, but on the austere side, apart from the stony/salty finish, which lifts the wine from slightly severe to delicious. But not for lovers of rich fruit or oak. As it warms up in the glass, it has impressive depth. Distinctive variety with great promise. Should be a good companion to seafood. (Oysters, the tech sheet suggests.) It would be fascinating to taste this in a few years time." VGV (JH) Drink 2028– 2029  jancisrobinson.com

90pts "They have some experimental wines, like the 2023 Prova No 5 Donzelinho Branco, which was produced with an obscure white variety that, when picked early, produced this light and fruit-driven wine with 11% alcohol and a tender palate with integrated acidity, all about white fruit. This fermented in stainless steel and concrete and was bottled unoaked." Drink 2025 - 2027 Luis Gutiérrez on Robert Parker

90pts: "Both zesty and creamy, this has aromas of blanched almonds, baked apples and lemons. It’s light- to medium-bodied with lively acidity and a fainty nutty hint."
